Early Career
Illuminated Sign Artist
I was awarded my first job ever while still in high school, after a random walk-in and no idea if the sign company was even hiring. After talking my way into a meeting with the owner, I was still met with a lot of “no” and “you have zero experience to work with”. Undeterred, I went to the trunk of my car and brought in several canvas paintings I had recently created by hand; to show that I had a steady hand, an artistic eye, and was trainable. I was hired on the spot as an illuminated sign painter apprentice, and a few years later became the Graphics Manager overseeing a team of graphic artists and sign painters. I was in charge of many large accounts and created notable works for brands like Planet Hollywood, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, Disney, Hollywood Studios, Subway, The Golf Channel, and more.
Motorsports Graphics
Following my first college degree in Digital Media, I found a position in motorsports graphics design. For many prestigious race clients, I designed paint schemes to their specifications and sometimes within strict branding guidelines. Because of my prior experience in the sign industry, I also hand-applied many of the graphics on the actual vehicles via HVLP paint, airbrush, and vinyl techniques.
